Product Description :
Grape Variety: Marsanne 90 % - Roussanne 10 % - Century old vines.
This wine comes from Domaine HABRARD's only vineyard parcel in Hermitage. Bought from General de Gaulle's son-in-law by Marcel HABRARD in the 70's, this very old vineyard is located in the most famous terroir of the Hermitage hill: "Les Rocoules".
Entirely hand-harvested.
Classic, traditional vinification. Pressing, cold settling of the juice, around 20 days temperature-controlled vinification.. Ageing for 12 months in 1 to 4 year old barrels.
Tasting Commentary:
Beautiful yellow gold colour with lemon highlights; attractive shine.
Very intense on the nose, initially dominated by brioche and buttery notes mingling with coffee roasting and praline notes.
Then aromas of acacia and fresh flowers as well as honey refine the wine's very powerful nose. The entry is very supple, with considerable weight on the palate with loads of fat. This is in perfect harmony with the honeyed, brioche aromatic notes that can be found again on the palate. Long lingering aromas. This wine, while powerful, remains well balanced, because it is not the alcohol that dominates but rather the harmony between the bouquet dominated by the maturity and the sensory perception of smoothness.
